About This Department
What We Do?
The Ontario Provincial Police patrol the Highways between Niagara, Hamilton, Brantford and St. Catherines. Making sure Traffic laws are enforced and speed limits adhered to. We also utilize Air Support when needed in times of excessive speeding making road conditions unsafe for officers and other motorists, once conditions are safe once again Air1 or Air2 will direct ground units to the suspect for apprehension.

Full Training so that any procedure done out in the field will be with confidence and the chance for promotion once proficiency has been demonstrated to the chain of command.
Available Detachments:
Highway Safety Division:
Highway Safety Division (HSD) focuses primarily on traffic enforcement and safety. The HSD patrols approximately 139,000 kilometres of highway from Los Santos to Paleto Bay. The HSD Provincial Traffic Safety Program focuses on addressing high-risk behaviors to reduce injuries and save lives on Ontario’s highways, trails, and waterways.
